Terms of Use

The Short Version

Read, share and learn from what we publish. Don't copy our paid guides or members-only content wholesale, don't misuse your account, and don't treat our stories as financial advice. If a paid guide isn't for you, our refund policy covers it.

Who These Terms Are With

These terms are between you and Jalen West, who runs The Brand Bet ("we" or "us"). They cover thebrandbet.com, our newsletter, site accounts and the guides we sell. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

Your Account

Free site accounts are coming soon. When they launch:

• You must be 16 or older to create one.
• Use an email address you control, and keep access to it, since that's how you sign in.
• One account per person. Don't share your sign-in links or let others use your account.
• Creating an account also subscribes you to our newsletter. You can unsubscribe and keep your account, or delete the account at any time. The Privacy Policy explains how.
• We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we close your account for any other reason, we'll tell you first.

Using the Site Fairly

Please don't:

• copy, republish or resell our paid guides or members-only content, or post them somewhere others can get them for free,
• use bots, scrapers or bulk downloads to collect our content, or use it to train AI models, without our written permission,
• try to get around sign-in, paywalls or other limits, or interfere with how the site runs,
• create accounts with fake or other people's details, or use the site for anything unlawful.

What You Can Do With Our Content

We own the writing, research, charts, videos and design we publish, or have permission to use them. You're welcome to share links, quote short passages with credit to The Brand Bet and a link back, and use what you learn in your own work. That's what the plays are for.

When you buy a guide, you get a license to use it yourself and the people on your own team at work. You can keep it, print it and reread it. You can't share the file publicly or resell it.

If you send us something, like a reply, a tip or a correction, you still own it. You let us use it to reply to you and to improve our work. We'll ask before quoting you by name.

Brands, Logos and Trademarks

The Brand Bet covers real companies. We show their names, logos, ads and products for commentary, criticism and news reporting. Those remain the property of their owners. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by or paid by any company we cover, unless a piece is clearly labeled as sponsored. "The Brand Bet" and our logo are ours.

Commentary, Not Advice

Our stories and guides are commentary and education about brand and marketing decisions. They aren't financial, investment, legal or tax advice. When we mention stock prices, revenue or other numbers, it's to show what happened to a business, not to suggest buying or selling anything. Make your own decisions, and talk to a qualified professional when the stakes call for it.

We source every claim and fix mistakes when we find them, but we can't promise that everything is complete or current. Links to other sites are there for your reference. We don't control those sites.

Purchases and Refunds

Our guides are digital downloads sold through Kit's checkout, with payments handled by Stripe. If a guide isn't useful to you, ask for a refund within 14 days of buying. Our Refund Policy has the details. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer law where you live.

Our Responsibility

We provide the site and our content as they are. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or business decisions you make after reading our work. If we are liable to you for anything, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you haven't paid us anything. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Changes and Ending These Terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll post it here with a new date, and tell account holders by email before it takes effect. You can stop using the site or delete your account at any time.

These terms are governed by the laws of the U.S. state where we're based, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be changed by agreement.
